Is your marketing manipulating or inspiring?

The two best approaches to influencing human behavior are either manipulation or inspiration.

When I say manipulation, I by no means label it as derogatory. It's extremely common and quite acceptable; I understand!

Moreover, good marketers know human psychology and use it proactively to build meaningful campaigns.

Everything we use, from limited-time offers, sales of the month, freebies, and influencer marketing, is to create fear and urgency to manipulate the audience into buying our product. And not to mention, it works! It works, and your company generates revenue and can pay your monthly salary.

However, the best form of marketing goes beyond manipulation.

In 1976, when half of the US was protesting America's involvement in the Vietnam war, the revolution ignited in a different form. The two young revolutionaries decided to beat the system in their own game.

Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs, the cofounders of Apple computers' began the revolution in personal computers. That time when technology was too complicated and was an essential tool for running a business. In the first year, Apple made 1 million in revenue; in the fourth year, they sold $100 million worth of computers.

It happed because:

+They sold a story that inspired, not just a product.

+They sold a vision and not just a limited period offer.

+They were able to understand the system and build the pattern.

Marketing through manipulation will give you results. Marketing through inspiration will make you revolutionary.

It takes a stand for something that people can relate to! It tells a story that changes the narrative.

Is your marketing manipulating or inspiring? What story does your business tell the world? Tell me in the comments.
